Letter to Jacinda Ardern

This weeks Literacy theme is Matariki. One of the tasks is to write a letter to Jacinda Ardern. The day before I made my letter, me and the rest of my writing group did this thing where we would look at a letter that someone made to Bunnings Warehouse asking if Bunnings would support their school with their Kitchen Garden. I hope you like my letter and if you want to look at the other tasks or any other theme you can visit our Teams Google Site. (if you go onto the Google Site you can look at the Bunnings letter by clicking this link)

For this activity I had to re-write it because I realised (with my teachers help of course) that it didn't fit the criteria. Doing this activity really helped me learn how to write a letter because I have done letter writing in the past but I never really understood it but now I do.

Marbled Cone Snail

This weeks literacy theme is Strange and Wonderful Animals. One of the tasks were to crate a sign about the Marbled Cone Snail and how they are VERY dangerous. We had to make a poster with big and bold fonts to get peoples attention. If you would like to look at some of the other literary themes or the other literacy tasks then you can go to our Team’s Google Site

For this activity I have to be honest I did this on my first try. So this is what the criteria included:
  • Pictures, with only a few important words

  • Bold text

  • Bright colours

  • Catch people’s attention

Doing this activity I learned that you are not supposed to approach this snail, no matter how cool this snail looks it can kill you so I would advise you to stay away from this snail.

Strange Animals Attribute Organiser

This week our Literacy theme is Strange and Wonderful Animals. One of the tasks is an Attribute Organiser. We had to research all the different categories for some strange animals. The categories were: which countries/continents is it found?, What is its habitat like?, What does it eat?, 3 interesting facts and a picture of the animal. There we all different kinds of strange animals. The animals were: Pangolin, Naked Mole Rat, Goblin Shark, Shoebill, Sloths and Axolotl. If you would like to look at some of the other literacy themes then you can go to our Team’s Google Site

For this activity I was supposed to put everything into key words, but for the 3 interesting facts part I didn’t put only keywords I put in full sentences. My teacher helped me by leaving a comment to remind me that I was supposed to only put keywords not full sentences. Next time I need to remind myself that I have to put only keywords so my teacher doesn’t have to remind me. Doing this activity helped me learn about the different types of strange animals.

Thank you for coming to my blog. Please leave a comment for me.
