bacteria information report
We are working on an experiment to see which cleaning product would work best on our Chromebook mouse pads. We took samples and added them onto our petri dish, as they grow we keeped putting down if the mold had grown.
Collecting Samples
First we needed to decide which cleaning products we were going to test, my group chose Control, Hand sanitiser and Bench spray. Once we had decided what products we were going to use we could start taking samples. To take the samples we had to use a clean cotton bud to wipe the mouse pad. Then we could wipe the same cotton bud on to the section of agar.
The growth of bacteria
Control Area
The control area of the petri dish started growing mould on day 2. There were a lot of little bit of mould growing and by day 7 the mould had grown so much that there was a big red and fluffy piece of mould growing on the control part of my petri dish.
Bench spray Area
The bench spray area of my petri dish started growing mould on day 2. When it did grow mould it grow a lot of different sizes of mould in different spots all over the the bench spray area of my petri dish.
Hand sanitiser Area
The hand sanitiser area started growing mould on day 3. When it did start to grow mould the mould was different to the others it had a thick dark green layer of mould on top of the agar.
Findings
We are working on an experiment to see which product would work best on our Chromebook mouse pads. The product that worked best for me was the Hand sanitiser, because the bench spray area and the control area didn’t do a very good job.
Our experiment is to see which product would work best on our Chromebook mouse pad. The best product was the hand sanitiser and it had little spots of mould everywhere. The hand sanitiser had little green spots of mould everywhere.
